For those of us that follow NASCAR, we all know that Jimmie Johnson has dominated the sport for over the past 5 years by becoming the first driver ever to win 5 Sprint Cup Championships in a row. Even though this is only my 2nd year watching NASCAR and you can call me a bandwagon fan if you want but Jimmie Johnson is still my favorite driver. I think I like him cuz he is so calm and cool even though he knows he's KING right now and especially since everyone hates him as well.
I believe JJ still has a great shot to win again this year but I believe and the new ESPN Power Rankings right now agree with me and my prediction by ranking him #1, Carl Edwards aka Mr. Back Flip. Carl is my choice to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship this year. Even though a BIG Congrats goes out to Trevor Bayne on winning the 2011 Dayton 500; I don't think he deserves the #2 spot after just 1 win even if he is the youngest driver ever to win the Dayton 500 and the fact that he just became a millionaire over night by winning over $1.4 million at the age of 20 after 3-4 hour race is impressive as well. It was a well deserved win for him with all the pushing he was doing all weekend and that he won he's 1st race in his 2nd EVER race on the biggest stage in NASCAR is equally as impressive. Alright well maybe he does deserve it for now. I would love to see him do well in his first season unfortunately he choose the box to only receive points in the Nationwide Series and under new NASCAR rules you can only compete for 1 championship unlike how it use to be last year.
Carl ended last year with 2 straight wins and has started this season off right by finishing 2nd, gaining 42 points becoming the overall points leader, and winning $1.1 million at the Daytona 500. His hot streak has continued in week #2 by finishing 2nd yesterday in the Nationwide Series and he'll be on the pole for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 later today at Phoenix International Raceway. At the end of this 2011 season I see Carl Edwards doing his famous back flip at the finish line about 4-5 (victories) times and when it comes down to announcer the Champion I believe he'll be doing this as well:

Happy Anniversary!!!
60 years ago today, my Grandma & Papa drove down to North Carolina (this must be where I get my UNC Tar Heel obsession from) with one of their friends as a witness and got married. I would like to wish them a much deserved HAPPY 60th ANNIVERSARY!!! I'd also like to say a BIG thank you to them for sticking together through the thick in and thin b/c without you'll I would not be here today.
I always love hearing the story of how they first started dating. Papa and Grandma knew of each through the short encounters that they had at Murphy's, the store where grandma worked at the time, but they never actually had gone out on a date or anything like that. When one day Papa was waiting outside on the corner with his entourage and Grandma was walking up the street and just at that very moment one of Papa's friends said "there's that red headed girl from up the street." Next, he shouted out to her asking her where she was going and she said "the movies!." With the magic looming in the air and with no hesitation he asked, "can I join?" and she said "sure, if you got the money!" So he left his friends in the dust and walked down the street to the movie theater with her. Papa being the true gentlemen that he is paid for their movie tickets and they saw their first movie together and from that day forth the rest is history. What else is awesome about this story is that a movie ticket at the time was about $0.13 per person. They would date for 5 years after this point before Papa popped the question. Which reminds I got to ask her how he asked? (Note to self) Over the next 60 years, Papa would work up to 3 jobs at a time (when their kids where younger) to support his stay at home wife and their 4 kids. Papa is still currently working as a part-time mechanic and he has been a mechanic for over 50+ years now. When I was a kid while Papa was at work, Grandma would take care of me until Mom or Dad picked me up after work later that day. I hope she knows that she was instrumental in shaping me into the man I am today. Over those years, she filled my belly with so many delicious foods and turned me on to some of my favorites today such as mac-n-cheese with tomatoes, sweet tea, fried chicken, and the BEST bologna burger EVER!!!
MPP & I are getting married in September and I hope that on September 10th, 2071 that we are as lucky as my grandparents: still happily married, with a couple of kids living healthy in our 80's.
MPP & I will be driving down to Richmond on Saturday to celebrate their 60 Anniversary at Italian Kitchen at 6pm with their kids, other family members, and friends. On behalf of myself and our family, we would like to invite all family and friends of theirs to join us for dinner. We are hoping that all in-town family will be able to make it out to celebrate this once in a life time event and we wish their son, David, who lives in Georgia, could be there as well.

I Can't Believe I'm Saying This But...
I've officially turned into my parents. I make fun of them all the time b/c they watch at least 2 TV shows a night. They watch so many shows that they have to On-Demand some of them since you can only DVR 2 shows at a time. Well it looks I'm following right in their footsteps with my TV obsession as well. Can you say HYPOCRITE? Well I can. I enjoy vegging out on the couch for about 2-3 hrs of solid TV viewing each and every night. Check out my weekly TV schedule below:

MPP Knows Me All 2 Well
As you all know by now I'm in CHOCOHOLIC. So look at what MPP got me for Valentine's Day:
She also scoured high and low as well and found some pictures of us and went through SnapFish and got me a photo book made capturing our memories over the past 2 years. We are going to start a new tradition of making one of these every year or anytime we go on a trip from now on to remember our travels and our adventures together throughout the year.

Super Bowl XLV Predictions
As you all know by now I am a huge COWBOYS fan and it pains me so to see two other teams playing and their banners hanging from our stadium. I was hoping that we would be the first team EVER to host and play in a Super Bowl but thanks to Tony Romo and Wade Phillips that was not the case. Anyways enough bitterness for one day, I think this Super Bowl is going to be one of the great ones and here are my predictions:
Half-time
Green Bay 14, Pittsburgh 13
Final Score
Green Bay 31, Pittsburgh 27

Time to Hit the Slopes!
Every since MPP and I went skiing a couple of years back with some friends at Wisp Resort in Maryland, I have been expressing how badly that I have wanted to go back skiing. So MPP got me the BEST present ever for my bday a skiing weekend at Massanutten near JMU. Needless to say I was so excited and I'm so excited that this weekend has come. We will be heading off to take a trip down memory lane first by driving through JMU to see the campus and all the new editions, grab some lunch, and then its off to hit the slopes from about 4 to close. Then depending on how I feel after a full night of skiing, I might ski for a couple hrs on Sunday as well then its back home to watch the Super Bowl with some friends. Check out the picture that was on the card that MPP made for me for my birthday:
